Age Cymru Charity Event
We were proud to be able to launch the first of many events to
be held over the coming months to promote dignity within the
community and raise awareness of the issues and barriers facing the
elderly among us on the run up to 'Older Peoples Awareness
Day' on October 1st 2010.

Pictured is Ms. Karen Hughes our Registered Managing Director
presenting Sarah Gizzi the Manager of Age Cymru, Bodfor Street,
Rhyl with a cheque for £176.40.
We also donated 10% of the monies raised to
Sainsbury's Supermarket in Rhyl for their chosen charity. The
manager kindly donated the monies to Age Cymru.
The launch took place over 2 days at Sainsbury's Supermarket in
Rhyl. Without the welcome and kind hospitality afforded to us
by all the staff at Sainsbury's, we would not have been able to
raise awareness of the barriers facing older people in the
community and to promote dignity.
Our aim is to encounter people of all generations and present them
with free information on how to promote dignity awareness in the
community on a daily basis. The leaflets we've produced give
just a few ideas on how each individual can make a difference to
someone's day by making them feel worthwhile and valued within the
community whatever their age or disability. If you'd like a
copy of our promoting dignity flier, please do not hesitate to
contact us at Michael Phillips Care Agency Ltd.
We chose to raise money on the day for Age Cymru, this decision was
made because of the outstanding work they do in relation to
supporting the elderly and vulnerable. You can gather
valuable information on their website at http://www.agecymru.org.uk.
They can give you specialist advice on what you are entitled to, so
it's well worth giving them a call.
We are holding a number of similar events in the run up to
"Older People's Awareness Day" on October
1st, and also hope to include some secondary
schools to enable us to promote awareness across the generations
and attempt to close that gap via an understanding and respect for
those who quite frankly have so much to share, have done and seen
so many things and had many life experiences they can share with
the younger generations.

Also pictured are photographs of the stand during the event at
Sainsbury's Supermarket. We would like to thank the customers
of Sainsbury's for their generous donations over the event
period.
