Fit For Work Service Launched

Michael Phillips Care Agency Ltd were pleased to be invited to the
launch of the new "Fit for Work Service" last Wednesday
30th June at the Town Hall in Rhyl
. The "Fit for Work Service is an innovative new project to
encourage individual employee's to return to work sooner following
sickness under the new Fit for Work note provided by their
GP.
This is an excellent service for employers and employee's alike
in the catchment's area of the Rhyl City Strategy, which reaches as
far as the Colwyn Bay area. Ways in which the Fit for Work
service team can help individuals back into work include the
following:
Provision of free and confidential support, to help people with
health problems get back to work.
One to one appointment with a Case Manager.
Explanation of services offered and provision of an initial
assessment of individual need.
Referral for appropriate intervention i.e. counselling,
occupational therapy, debt advice, physiotherapy.
Regular communication from Case Manager to discuss progress and
possible return to work.
Aftercare telephone call to customer on progress after returning to
work.
This invaluable new service will be effective in assisting
individual staff on sick leave back into their working environment
in the shortest possible time. Employers are also able to
access the services to make initial referrals and can be offered a
range of free support to improve their workplace practices.
